Over ten years ago now, a friend passed along a remedial piece of design software that, through its limitations, provided tremendous creative opportunities. Tribe began as an original photograph. It was turned inside out, distorted, and passed through every possible filter and back again. I beat the crap out of that software. The trick was knowing when to stop; I learned the hard way. Tribe isn't about black and white; it's about politics. And that's all I'll say about that. I had to decide whether to continue down this creative path - digital abstraction - or get back to work. Could I do both? Yes. But not faithfully.
